1What if our Waiver is not approved?

     Even though Medicaid can deny a waiver, any waiver, they have to give you an opportunity to appeal any decision they make prior to giving  you a  "final denial". 

2.  What do we do at the first denial?

     We at Raise Them High are committed to helping you.  If you get an Initial Technical Denial letter, we will work with you to gather all the necessary information and provide any additional forms or letters needed for further review.

3. How long do I have to resubmit information?

     Your denial letter will have a date that the information must be received in their office. Usually, it is 30 days from the date of your letter.

4.  How do we put an appeal together?

     First, we take a deep breath.  Then, we make a list of the information needed, find the best way to obtain that information, and work to gather the everything needed to satisfy Medicaid's request.

5. Do I take my appeal information to DFACS?

     No.  You want to mail it to the address on the letter.

6. Do I have to use a service to apply for a Deeming Waiver?

    No.  There are other organizations that can help you if you prefer to use them or you can do it yourself. 


**Remember, be sure that any information you mail to DFACS, Georgia Health Partnership, or any other organization is sent certified mail, return reciept requested!
